The McCloy Group is flying the flag for the Hunter region after being named a finalist in three categories of the Property Council of Australia’s national awards.
The McCloy Group’s Heritage Parc estate is nominated in the sought-after Residential Development category and The Lucky Hotel has been recognised in the Tourism & Leisure and Heritage Development categories.
Heritage Parc is a unique community-titled subdivision in the Maitland local government area. Once complete, the neighbourhood will house 450 homes discretely nestled amongst 11 parks, playgrounds and waterways. With over 50 per cent of the 103 hectare property dedicated to green open spaces, landscaped parklands, water features and vibrant public art.
McCloy Group Managing Director Brian Swaine said Heritage Parc is proving very popular with buyers.
“In the recent Ponds Release, 12 of the 15 lots available had deposits taken within the first 10 minutes which shows we are satisfying the expectations of the local community by producing superior leisure and lifestyle offerings.”
Heritage Parc has previously won the prestigious award for Best Residential Development at the 2014 Urban Development Institution of Australia (UDIA) Awards for Excellence.
McCloy Group breathed new life into The Lucky Hotel, one of Newcastle’s iconic heritage buildings with a multi-million dollar transformation in 2014. Whilst staying true to its grand history dating back to the 1800’s, the revamped hotel pays tribute to its cultural history with the preservation of the site’s exposed brickwork, raw iron beams, original fireplaces and unique timber frames.
The rustic bones of the heritage building has been contrasted against an elegant and refined fit-out to accommodate for today’s modern society.
“Inarguably, there is a need to rejuvenate Newcastle’s city centre and for more quality housing and lifestyle opportunities. As developers, we have the responsibility to further enrich the region by delivering vibrant and innovative places for people to live, work, rest and play,”Mr Swaine added.
“I think we can proudly say that we’re doing our part, particularly with Heritage Parc and The Lucky Hotel.”
The Innovation & Excellence Awards is one of the most prestigious property awards programs in Australia, promoting excellence in design and innovation in the built environment since 1982.
The national winners will be announced at the annual Innovation & Excellence Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 3 June 2016.
