The newest McCloy Group residential community in Medowie was released on Saturday 24 September with all 31 available homesites in Stage 1 sold within 48 hours. A number of hopeful parties camping out from as early as the Wednesday prior to be the first to secure a homesite.
The Bower, located off Medowie Road in Medowie, spans 127 hectares with 350 homesites across 57 hectares and the remaining 70 hectares preserved as state forest and open space. The impressively spacious homesites range in size from 1000 square metres to over 4000 square metres.
Managing Director of McCloy Group, Brian Swaine, said that Medowie was identified as a key growth area with its proximity to Port Stephens beaches and nearby work opportunities at the RAAF, the expanding Newcastle Airport and Newcastle CBD.
“This is an unrivalled offering in the Medowie area so we did expect demand to be strong,’ said Mr Swaine. “We identified Medowie as an area that was in need of more housing with the number of work opportunities nearby and its proximity to Newcastle.”
The name, The Bower, has been inspired by the impressive home built and decorated by a male Satin Bowerbird, which is found in the adjoining Medowie State Forest. The bowerbird meticulously maintains the bower throughout the year beautifully decorating it with bright blue objects.
“The Bower borders Medowie State Forest so a key focus for us will be to create a neighbourhood that is sympathetic to the surrounding area and complement the Medowie lifestyle”, said Mr Swaine.
