Plans to expand Goonellabah housing estate by 200 lots
Plans have been lodged to add more than 200 lots to a popular housing estate in Goonellabah.
A development application has been lodged to expand the Eastwood Living residential estate on Invercauld Rd in Goonellabah.
The DA for Eastwood Precinct Two proposes another 203 lots to the south of the existing development that contains 136 lots.
The site had historically been used for cattle grazing, with a house in the north west corner, and was surrounded by grazing land and rural residential housing.
The new lots at 226 Invercauld Rd would be released in eight stages.
House lots range in size from 469sq m to 3059sq m in a layout that allows for a choice of house designs, the plans state.
The DA, estimated to cost $11,165,000, was lodged with Lismore City Council on May 25, and was on public exhibition until July 23.
The plans show one residual plot would be given to the council for open space, and 10 new roads would be built.
It states the use of low maintenance, native tree species “will promote biodiversity, create green streets, and help mitigate the effects of urban heat island”.
There has been so much interest in Eastwood Estate so far, that an auction of four house blocks set for July, was moved forward a month.
