Families in Medowie now have improved local play spaces, with McCloy Group delivering upgrades at Creighton Drive Reserve and Kindlebark Oval as part of its commitment to the local community.

The two playground upgrades, with a combined budget of approximately $300,000, were delivered through a Works in Kind Agreement with Port Stephens Council, with approximately $150,000 allocated to each park.

Take a drive through The Gardens and it’s easy to see the extra level of care McCloy Group has brought to the community. Mature street trees, shared pathways connecting homes with parks and playgrounds, and statement public art installations all contribute to the distinctive character and theming of the community.

Located just 350 metres from The Gardens, Creighton Drive Reserve is approximately a one-minute walk from the new community, giving residents convenient access to the upgraded facilities. The improvements were designed in conjunction with Council and feedback from the local community.

Port Stephens Mayor Leah Anderson said these new playgrounds are a welcome addition to the Medowie community.

“Residents told us what they wanted to see in these spaces and it’s wonderful to see their ideas brought to life so quickly,” Mayor Anderson said.

“Works In Kind agreements are a great way to partner with local developers to improve community facilities and create spaces for our local families to enjoy,” Mayor Anderson added.

At Creighton Drive Reserve, the upgrades include:

  • New swings, slides and climbing equipment
  • A new bubbler station
  • An extension of the existing footpath to the road to improve accessibility
  • A new footpath around the perimeter of the park

At Kindlebark Oval, the upgrades include:

  • New swings, a slide, climbing equipment and a saucer
  • Three new trees
  • A sandstone retaining wall
  • A new footpath from the car park and around the perimeter of the playground to improve accessibility
  • Additional seating

The playground upgrades are part of McCloy Group’s ongoing commitment to creating master planned communities and contributing to the places in which it develops. To find out more about McCloy Group communities visit mccloygroup.com.au
