TELSTRA CIVIC BUILDING
The Telstra Civic building is a 6 storey landmark commercial office development in the heart of Newcastle’s business and Civic precinct. With 6,809 square metres of lettable area on large floor plates, the building has been home to Telstra Corporation, the Department of Public Prosecutions (NSW State Government) and McCloy Group head office.
The highly visible location is close to all the conveniences of Darby Street, Honeysuckle, the Civic precinct and the new Justice precinct. In 2017, the building underwent a refurbishment including environmental upgrades to the lighting and HVAC systems, additional amenities including End of Trip facilities and an upgraded lift lobby. 2018 will see a sculpture garden incorporated into the Darby Street exterior, activating the space with public seating and an area allocated for a food and beverage outlet.
At the rear of the building is multi-level secure parking with direct access to each floor.
DAIRY FARMERS CORNER
The McCloy Group secured the property famously known as Dairy Farmers Corner in early 2019. The site is located in Newcastle West and spans 5100 square metres. The property has three core space to be let and a Floor Space Ratio of 5:1 along with a 74-metre frontage of Hunter Street. Its location nearby the Transport Interchange makes it a sought after gateway site for Newcastle.
The site offers a 90 metre, or 30 storey height limit the opportunity for growth of this site will be plentiful. McCloy Group sold this asset in 2022.

CITY EXCHANGE
Situated in a high profile location, City Exchange enjoys frontages to the CBD’s two main thoroughfares, Hunter Street and King Street and combines two buildings with a mixture of secure on-grade and basement parking.
The property is part of the ‘City Exchange’ complex that won the Urban Taskforce Australia ‘Development Excellence Award for Adaptive Re-use 2011’. The McCloy Group saw an internal refurbishment in 2019 and external upgrade in 2020 which saw additional external public art as well as foyer and courtyard upgrades.

WICKHAM WAREHOUSE
Blackwoods tenant over 5,600m2 of industrial space on Hannell Street in Wickham, Newcastle. Blackwoods – a Wesfarmers’ subsidiary and Australia’s largest distributor of industrial, engineering and safety workplace needs.
This mixed-use site is perfectly located on the fringe of Honeysuckle Marina Precinct and the City West Precinct, positioned across from Newcastle’s impressive foreshore.

JOHN HUNTER HOSPITAL
The hospital was by far the McCloy Group’s biggest building project. It commenced construction in 1987 and was finished in 1990 – one year ahead of the contract time, despite some $7 million worth of damage in the 1989 Newcastle Earthquake.
The project was built to a high standard, winning in 1990 the NSW MBA Excellence in Building Award for projects in the category of Public Buildings $20 million and over.

CHURCHILLS
The Churchills building was a 1600m2 bulky goods showroom which was leased to various businesses. The McCloy Group purchased Churchills in 2009 and sold it in 2014. Enhancements included a new facade, carpets and interior fixtures and fittings.

384-356 HUNTER STREET
This commercial project was a joint venture with Macquarie Bank. The building at 384 Hunter Street was refurbished internally and externally with a new facade and a services upgrade throughout. It was then strata-titled and the units were sold off separately.
The other buildings also refurbished and sold individually.

JEWELLSTOWN PLAZA
McCloy Group (previously DF McCloy Constructions) completed the development of Jewellstown Plaza shopping centre in Belmont North in 1982.
The shopping centre was anchored by Bi-Lo with 15 specialty shops, an office and a 359-space car park. The centre was updated in 2000 which included the development of the adjoining Jewells Tavern that was also owned by McCloy Group.
McCloy Group owned the shopping centre for 20 years until it was sold in 2004.
