Developer Jeff McCloy has been awarded a top civic honour in the 2009 City of Newcastle community awards.
Eight individuals and organisations were recognised last night in a ceremony at City Hall.
Mr McCloy was presented with the sole City of Newcastle medal, in honour of distinguished service to Newcastle and its citizens.
The McCloy group Managing Director was recognised as an outspoken advocate for bringing development and prosperity to the city.
His generous monetary donations, and guidance and support of charities, education and welfare groups, medical research, sports teams and clubs were recognised.
Seven City of Newcastle service awards were bestowed on individuals and groups for environmental and community work.
