In January 2019, Sacred Tree Markets announced a new street food concept to visit various locations throughout Port Stephens.

The trial ran for a month and was an instant hit with Port Stephens foodies flocking to 3 trial dates run over a one month period.

The trial saw around 2000 locals and visitors attend both The Fly Point and Medowie events, with a third trial location at Anna Bay washed out on February 2nd.

Sacred Tree Markets and Street Food Social founder, Jessica Rowarth states “We loved running Street Food Social! We were thrilled with the community and trader response from the January trial and hoped to continue running it but Street Food Social isn’t financially sustainable. We weren’t able to continue without additional support.”

But today we are proud to announce partnership with award-winning Hunter based developers The McCloy Group. We are bringing a new Street Food Social date to the Medowie community, Jessica said.

Street Food Social will run on Sunday April 14 2019 between 4pm and 9pm in Medowie’s ‘Bower Reserve’ onsite at McCloy Community, The Bower with many of the Hunter’s favourite trucks already jumping on board.

It is a stunning new location with multiple onsite playgrounds and we are really excited to have the Bao Brothers, El Poco Loco, Harry’s Schnitzel Truck, Crepe Face, Choux Patisserie & Medowie locals The Crafty Pit confirmed.” Jessica Rowarth said.

More street food vendors are still to be announced. The foodie haven will also feature a meet and greet with Hunter football star Mitchell Pearce, a fire show by Newcastle legend Hannah Indigo, kids entertainment and live music.

The McCloy Group are also offering the opportunity to win one of ten ‘Free Feed’ vouchers to celebrate. Entering is simple head over to thebowermedowie.com.au and complete the form. The winners will be announced Friday 12th April and your ‘Free Feed’ can be redeemed at Street Food Social at The Bower!

“Bringing opportunities to the community and supporting local initiatives is something the McCloy Group is strongly supportive of. Street Food Social has already proved itself a success in Medowie so helping keep that alive for the community was something we were certainly on board with.” commented Brian Swaine, McCloy Group Managing Director.

The Bower’s new park and playground facilities offered the perfect spot for the next Street Food Social, we can’t wait welcome you!
