The McCloy Group were humbled to have been present for a wonderful show of community support on Saturday 11th December, joining Redhead Surf Life Saving Club to launch their newest surf boat aptly named the ‘Peter J Ramplin’, in honour of Mr Ramplin’s years of involvement with the club. Saturday was touching afternoon for the Ramplin family, club members and the wider community and a great way to remember Peter.
The association between Redhead SLSC and the McCloy Group spans many decades, back to then early 90’s when Don McCloy, who stared DF McCloy’s donated and launched ‘The Jewellstown’ for the 1990 – 1991 season, christening it with a traditional champagne launch.
1995 saw the seawall and clubhouse renovations, the McCloy Group were proud to have been able to assist with the construction and civil works at the time for the club.
Following in his father’s footsteps Jeff again supported the club with another surf boat, which was launched in 2004. The ‘Jewells Tavern’ saw the club through many years of competition and memories.
Saturday’s launch had been 12 months in the making, with McCloy Group donating the ‘Peter J Ramplin’ earlier this year. Thank you to Redhead SLSC for a wonderful afternoon, the McCloy Group are humbled to have been able to continue our support of the club and its members. It was great to see the newest addition take to the waves for the first time.
Wishing the club the very best for each endeavour on the new surf boat!
