McCloy & Stevens’ land release ‘The Loxford’ sells out on Day 1

It took just three hours for the latest land release in the Hunter region to sell out at the weekend.

While an estimated 1,500 people flocked to the free family event launch, some keen purchasers had been camped out since Thursday to ensure their block of choice was secured.

Perched on the fringes of Gillieston Heights, off Cessnock Road in Maitland, the 2000-hectare site known as The Loxford is the latest offering from developers McCloy Group & Stevens Group.

The master-planned community boasts approval for 354 new homesites, with both the Albion and Hampstead Releases attracting keen interest from buyers for several weeks.

On Saturday morning 7 October, gathered crowds were treated to a Red Bull Air Show, a visit by Hunter league legend Mark Hughes and his lovely wife Kirralee, free activities for the kids including a petting zoo and jumping castles, giveaways, free coffee, food trucks and leading home builders showcasing their designs.

“The launch day was a great way to connect with the surrounding community and we’re pleased to see the interest was largely local families,” commented McCloy Group development director Shane Boslem.

“We received really good feedback about the quality of the development and future plans for a Regional children’s park and playground here at The Loxford.

“The local builders in attendance also reported keen interested in building in the area and the opportunity it provides for families.”

The Loxford has been designed to work with the natural landscape, factoring in benched homesites and gentle slope to allowed for unique home designs along with options from 500m2 to over 1000m2.

True to McCloy’s approach, a statement entry feature will be expansive, sitting at the entry to the community on both sides of the new TfNSW intersection.

There will be gabion walls, a unique public art instalment titled Carbon Balance by David Ball and a mature fig tree.

Continuing their commitment to public art, a striking piece is already in place, celebrated by many attendees of the launch event – a larger-than-life gåçorilla by Gillies and Marc.

“The inclusions by McCloy & Stevens Group from the free family day, to a Regional park and playground catering for all ages and the sponsorships of local sporting clubs such as the Kurri Bulldogs clearly shows their commitment to giving back to the local community here through The Loxford,” Kirralee Hughes added.
